The Democrats are whistling past the graveyard after their own Mark Critz managed to hold onto the old John Murtha Pennsylvania seat (CD-12) by beating Republican Tim Burns. This video shows Democrat Paul Begala essentially saying that victory shows Democrats are going to be fine this Fall in the 2010 Midterm elections, "because the only place where it mattered tonight, the Democrat beat the Republican." He said it was a "good night for Barack Obama."
He even tried to paint the district as a Republican stronghold, even though it has been in Democrat hands for decades with the late John Murtha. That Critz only got 53% of the vote in a district held so long by Democrats is not exactly a ringing endorsement.
