Obama Said Gruesome Killing of Daniel Pearl "Captured the World's Imagination" - Video 5/17/10

Via Gateway Pundit

At the signing event of the "Daniel Pearl Freedom of the Press Act" yesterday, President Obama said something I had not seen reported until this afternoon.

Jim Hoft over at Gateway Pundit caught Obama using the unimaginable phrase "capture the world's imagination" to describe the result of the horrific beheading of Daniel Pearl by the Islamic Jihadists who mercilessly killed him. I guess Obama doesn't realize that phrase is generally used for things that are good and positive.

Wow. When I heard of the horrific murder of Daniel Pearl, I was not "reminded of how important the free press is." I was reminded that we face a barbaric, soulless, fanatical enemy who would -- if they could -- slit the throats of my child and yours. Was Daniel Pearl targeted more because he was a journalist or because he was an American and a Jew?

Excellent point. It was because he was an American and a Jew. But Obama and his administration don't want to admit we face a ruthless enemy rooted in radical Islam.
