Lt. Col. Allen West Asked on MSNBC About "Racism Built Within" Tea Party Movement - Video 5/7/10

Via NewsBusters

Here is video of Lt. Col. Allen West, an African-American GOP Candidate for Congress in Florida, being asked by MSNBC host Peter Alexander if he has had difficulty aligning himself with the Tea Party Movement. The host told West, "the Tea Party has raised concerns that it may have, I guess, racism built within it. We have seen some racist signs at past events."

West said the following in response to the question:

"The principles and values that I espouse, limited government, lower taxes, individual responsibility, and accountability, liberty, and honoring the traditions of our constitutional republic, are connecting me with those grass roots Americans that attend tea party rallies. And I've spoken at four to five of those rallies and I've not seen any racist type of signs."

West is an outstanding candidate, and handles himself well in the face of obvious media bias.

The Tea Party has a majority of whites but I read some statistic that 98% of all blacks voted for Obama. That is never bought up on MSNBC as racist. No commentator will ever ask a black guy if the blacks are racists because they nearly all voted for Obama.
