In our latest 2010 U.S. Senate projection, the GOP has dropped back to +6, with two states moving from "GOP Pickup" to "Tossup."
Pennsylvania and Colorado both moved back to "Tossup" on the strength of better polling for Joe Sestak (PA) and Michael Bennet (CO).
We also moved California back to "Dem Hold" because Barbara Boxer leads by more than five points on average in the last two sets of polls.
That leaves only two "Tossup" states currently held by Dems (CO, PA), and two held by the GOP (OH, FL). The other realistic pickup opportunities for the GOP in states rated as "Dem Hold" are CA, WI, CT, WA, NY-Gillibrand. Republicans will have to find a way to win four of those seven seats, in addition to the six we have already rated them to pickup, if they are to regain control of the U.S. Senate.
