Avowed "Socialist" California High School Teacher Calls California "Stolen, Occupied Mexico" - Video 5/14/10

Here is video of Fox News' Griff Jenkins talking with a California High School teacher Ron Gochez who is an avowed "Socialist." The teacher is featured in a YouTube video posted three years ago which shows him railing against "Capitalism, imperialism, white racist people, and calls for open revolution."

In fact, in the video (played during this video report) the teacher actually called the state of California "stolen, occupied Mexico."

In the interview with Jenkins, Gochez tried to walk his comments back slightly, especially the "white racist" ones. He sought to give the comments "context." But as the interview wore on, he could not help himself stating unabashedly that he is a "socialist," and that he advocates "revolution," although he said it should be a "peaceful revolution." He continually smashed "capitalism," always equating it with "imperialism."

Gochez claims he never states these views in the classroom, but says he doesn't have to because his students already know that what he is saying is true.

Well, that's a relief to know he never lets these radical views influence his lesson plans, or statements in the classroom! Isn't it great to know we have teachers like this in our public schools?

Never mind that he is working for California as a teacher, all the while he publicly says California is really "stolen, occupied Mexico."

Hello All,

You know, even if you want to call CA a stolen state, (which is a stretch but does have some small validity), it was stolen from Spain not Mexico. Also, it wasn't stolen by the US, it was stolen by it's own people wanting independence from Spain, in hopes of making thier own nation. Sounds very familiar.

And these are the types of teachers our President wants to "Bail Out".

Thanks, Shane (Hangmann747)

If he thinks California was stolen maybe "he" needs to steal it back, and see how far that gets him. Perhaps he should study up on his history being's he's a supposed teacher (ha) the people of California at the time wanted their freedom from Spain, they got it. If he doesn't like that perhaps he needs to go to Spain and complain that they gave California away. They won't put up with that much there.
