President Obama made 15 recess appointments today to get around the need for Senate Confirmation. The appointments include the controversial Craig Becker to the National Labor Relations Board.
All 41 Republicans sent Obama a letter asking him not to appoint Becker using a recess appointment. As CNN's Candy Crowley says in the video, "Yet the first thing the President did, of course, was to go ahead and do that recess appointment. Was that necessary?" She asks that question of Obama's Chief Adviser David Axelrod. She reminded Axelrod that Democrats used to consider recess appointments an "in your face" tactic.
Of course it is "in your face." But everything this President does is that way, as long as he's dealing with Republicans, allies like Israel, or the American People.
