Liberal Ed Schultz Urges Congress to Impose the "Fairness Doctrine": Says "Let's be Socialists All Across the Board" - Audio 3/24/10
Here is audio of liberal Ed Schultz on radio yesterday, where he urged the Democrats in Congress to impose the "Fairness Doctrine" to "level the playing field" on radio. He attacked Rush Limbaugh for urging defeat of Democrats in November, and it's not fair that Rush is on nearly 600 radio stations.
Schultz ends by saying, "If we are going to be socialists, let's be socialists all across the board."
Of course, Schultz did not mention that Rush Limbaugh did not start out on 600 stations. He built his audience station by station. "Air America" - a liberal radio network - tried to challenge conservative talk radio and failed miserably. That's the free market. The fact is, the vast majority of the nation is center-right, especially when you talk about geography. Most of the Democrat and Left-wing support is in the urban centers of America. That means the vast majority of radio stations geographically are located in conservative-leaning areas. That is what their listeners want to listen to. So, it stands to reason that Limbaugh and other conservatives would have larger numbers of stations.
