James Clyburn: Palin's "Hit-List" Is Aiding and Abetting "Terrorism" - Video 3/24/10

Democratic Rep. James Clyburn discusses the supposed "death threats" with Chris Matthews, and he accuses Sarah Palin of making a map that is targeting Democrats for violence. When MSNBC showed the graphic of the map in question they put above it, "Sarah Palin's Dem Hit-List." Clyburn also implied that Palin, Steele, and Republicans are "aiding and abetting this kind of terrorism."

BWAAAA

Feigned outrage

If the Republicans fold on this then they deserve to lose in November

re you suggesting that these threats aren't real, that they're all dreamed up for political purposes?

Tell it to Joe Stupak, who released the voicemails received at his home.

Tell it to Virginia congressmen Tom Perriello, who was targeted by a Tea Party website. The posted his home address on his website and suggested Tea Partiers "drop by" and "express their thanks" for Perriello's"yes" vote on healthcare reform. Except it wasn't HIS address,it was his brother's, and the Tea Partiers refused to take down the address unless the congressman would provide his actual home address,so it could be posted instead. And, today, the propane gas line on the brother's patio was cut.

Sarah Palin put crosshairs on the "targeted" members of Congress and suggested people "reload". Was she seriously suggesting violenece? It's doubtful. Was it an incredibly stupid thing to write? Yeah, even for Sarah Palin, it was.

You've got numbskulls writing on your own blog saying that revolution "may" be necessary. Why? Because you lost one election? Good Lord, people, wake up and find some sanity!

Of course, it's Bart Stupak. I get his name confused with Joe Sestak.

Sorry, no sympathy for the Democrats... I wouldn't be surprised if they concocted the whole effort for public sympathy, to help the latest Obama campaign in selling the unsellable Obamacare.

No one writing on this blog is advocating revolution. A commenter used the word, but he/she does not "write" for this blog.

It is ridiculous to say Sarah Palin was advocating violence by putting out a list of Democrats she is targeting for defeat in November. Democrats do that to Republicans all the time, and that is fair game to do. No Republican leader is advocating violence of any kind against Democrats.

But targeting Democrats for defeat in November is exactly what Republicans ought to be doing. That's the ONLY way to change the situation we are in as a nation.

Nobody said the commmenter was writing FOR your blog. I was quite careful to say "writing ON this blog".

Under ordinary circumstances, I would agree with you about "targeting" being ordinary language. But, sadly, we'renot living in ordinary times right at this moment. Palin should be a little more astute than she was. (And if sheisn'tcapable of it, why should anyone believe she should ever be President?)

Hearing all the outrage about the "cross-airs" makes me feel that even though she didn't mean it as a violent threat it is somewhat good that these loons are taking it that way. Next time you vote to take away freedom maybe they'll ask themselves if it's worth it

Larry S March 25, 2010 at 1:16 PM

Is it worth WHAT, exactly? Is voting to allow 32 million people to obtain health insurance worth having your life threatened by the most ignorant segments of our society?

You bet it is.

It was in the 1950s and 1960s when the prior generation of ignorant rednecks tried to persecute a whole race of people simply because of the color of their skin. Those ignoramuses weren't all that concerned about liberty then, and they're not now.

It's all about "I've got mine. You go get yours. I ain't liftin' a finger for you." That's not about freedom. That's just being selfish and self-centered.
