U.S. Marines Prepare for Major Offensive Against the Taliban at Marjah, Afghanistan - Video Report 2/9/10

Here is a video report on a major offensive U.S. Marines are preparing for in Afghanistan, to attack the Taliban in their stronghold at a place called Marjah.

The Marines are actually doing everything they can to telegraph their intentions to attack Marjah, in hopes that civilians will distance themselves from the Taliban hold up there. Many of the civilians are fleeing ahead of the U.S. offensive.

God bless our brave men and women in uniform.

Comments praising the Taliban will not be allowed here.

I did not praise the taliban. I was praising the noble freedom fighters who love their country so much. I was praising the people of Afghanistan. Who have the right to liberate there own country against a brutal foreign force. You're putting the word 'freedom' in your the headings of your website. Do you have the slightest idea what that word means?

Frank,
I owe you an apology. I misunderstood your post to be calling the Taliban "freedom fighters." That's why I deleted the comment. We want people to share their view, but there are limits, especially if it is attacking our men and women in uniform, or praising our enemies, such as the Taliban.

I apologize for misunderstanding your comment.

When they where financed by your government in order to destroy the Soviet Union, they where praised, those so-called 'taliban'.

Bless these men and women, these are the true American Idols.

You are absolutely right, Anonymous.

Marjah = Fallujah: a training ground for America's military-industrial complex of war profiteers.

[Raytheon, Boeing, Blackwater, ... are filling their pockets via lobbying your government. Actualy they buy the seats in Senate and Congress.]

"Civilization is based on a clearly defined and widely accepted yet often unarticulated hierarchy. Violence done by those higher on the hierarchy to those lower is nearly always invisible, that is, unnoticed. When it is noticed, it is fully rationalized. Violence done by those lower on the hierarchy to those higher is unthinkable, and when it does occur is regarded with shock, horror, and the fetishization of the victims." (Derrick Jensen)

Frank, violence is sometimes justified whether going up the hierarchy or down. You're painting a one sided picture, as if all violence going down the hierarchy is unjust. If bank robbers (low in the hierarchy) steal and commit murder, the police (higher in the hierarchy) have a right to stop them. Police action is justified and called for to protect all citizens. Just because somebody is lower in the hierarchy doesn't mean they are virtuous and good. Lenin and Hitler were low in the hierarchy at on point and then went to the top and were still evil bastards. Position in the doesn't determine virtue.

The United States military is responsible for the freedom of hundreds of millions of people across the world. There is no more noble figure in World History than the American Solider.

Europe and much of Asia would have been enslaved by the Japanese and the Germans had it not been for the U.S. Military. America suffered 400,000 of our own dead in Foreign Lands during World War II to preserve our freedom and to bring freedom to others.

We have done the same in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and now Afghanistan. Our military does not seek to occupy, but to liberate and leave behind a stable government that will not be a threat either to our nation, or the Afghan people.

That is the truth for anyone wishing it see it.

Now, that is what we believe here, and this site is a place for those who love America and believe in the values and principles that have made America "Freedom's Lighthouse."

If you don't agree with these principles, there are many sites that provide a platform for the opposite view. In America you are free to hammer on the USA and our military, but this site will not be a platform to do so. Find one that is, or start your own.
