Indiana 2010 U.S. Senate Race Moves into "GOP Gain" Column on Strength of New Polling

We have added updates to the 2010 U.S. Senate Projection Map and the Polls and Projections Table.

Rasmussen has put out polls today for Indiana and Wisconsin. The Indiana polls show either Republican Dan Coats or Doug Hostettler would defeat any Democrat by more than 10 points. As a result, we have moved Indiana from "Tossup" to "GOP Pickup." That makes our projection now six GOP Gains in what are now Democratic states.

Wisconsin is a bit different. It shows that Republican Tommy Thompson would defeat incumbent Democrat Russ Feingold if he chose to run. But Feingold leads the other potential Republican candidate. We'll leave Wisconsin as a "Tossup" for now until we have more information. But Feingold is obviously vulnerable.
