Here is raw audio of a 911 Call made by a man who drove off the road and wound up in a pond where he drowned. The man was extremely calm during the call, but by the time rescuers could arrive, his pickup sank and he had drowned.
An Orange County man was killed after investigators said he lost control of his truck and ended up in a retention pond.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Umberto Delgado, Jr., crashed into the pond around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on state Road 429, at the exit ramp to Plant Street.
Crews said Delgado had called 911 after the crash, but by the time they arrived, he was dead.
“The caller did advise that he was in the water and the car was sinking, and that’s about all we know at this time,” said Ocoee fire Chief Butch Stanley.
Dive crews said the water was 6 to 8 feet and very dark. . . . MORE
