Mika Brzezinski Mocks Palin's Founding Father Answer; Then Says "Lincoln" was Her Favorite! - Video 1/14/10

Here is video of MSNBC's Morning Joe crew mocking Sarah Palin for her answer to a question posed by Glenn Beck yesterday. Beck asked Palin (Part 5, 4:30 mark) who her "favorite founding father" is. Palin at first said "all of them," because she went on to explain that they collectively pledged their lives and fortunes to gaining Independence for America. After Beck rudely interrupted her with "bullcrap," she finished her sentence and then said George Washington would have to be her choice because he really led them.

MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski laughs and scoffs at Palin, and then at around the 1:00 mark, you can barely hear her say offhand that "Lincoln" is her favorite! Trouble is, Lincoln was not there! You have to listen close, but she says it just after Pat Buchanan says that Hamilton is his favorite.

Lesson: Don't laugh at and mock someone when you are totally clueless about the subject.

Mika has been on this political talk show for how long? I guess you don't need to know politics to talk about it. She lives in Washington but can see the statue of liberty from her house!

Mika, what about FDR?

Brian January 14, 2010 at 12:37 PM

Or even The One - Barack Obama.

Palin is correct about Washington and for the correct reasons.

Mika is an idiot and is MADE FOR MSNBC.

Why do the liberals think this is a big deal.. What was wrong with Palin's answer?
They have been regurgitating it since the interview over and over.. You'd think they would have jumped on the Cloward-Piven comments.. i.e. Obama is a Commie thing... They really are the stupid one's here, aren't they.

Karma comes quick these days, huh Mika...LOL!

Not only did Mika Brzezinski beclown herself, but her father's comment, "She believes in collective paternity," was inane. The nation did not have a founding father, it had founding fathers, and that term implies collective paternity.

George Washington was not only our greatest founding father, soldier and President but one of the greatest persons (and I mean countable on Three-Fingered Brown's
hand) to ever walk on this earth.
Liberals are not only ignorant, they are bereft of pride in this great nation and its heroes.

Lincoln? ROFL, expected for MSNBC, and Scarborough's such an embarrassment. I wish Mark Levin would tear him up like he did that clown David Frum.

I'd make an argument for Franklin for his relative quirkiness as well as his ideas, but nothing wrong with GW (the original).

MSNBC: Most Seriously Nothing But Crap.

Mika may have said something stupid, but she has never run for president. I don't understand how anyone, regardless of how much you love Sarah, can watch that interview and not question her grasp of history or her interest in details. She is a lovely woman but that is not enough to become the leader of the greatest country in the world. Please be honest and ask yourselves if she is really the person who could handle the highest office in the land. I don't hate her; I admire many things about her but I would like to think that we have higher expectations for someone to be president. Beck actually tried to compare her to George Washington. That was just unbelievable.

My family would probably say I am a liberal. I like to think that I just have a difference of opinion with my fellow citizens of this great country and I have that right, according to the most amazing document ever written. Please don't accuse liberals of not having pride in this country. Everyone I know who takes the time to participate in governance loves our country and has pride in all of its history and institutions. If our country is to succeed, people have to stop using terms like stupid, hate, etc Let's get back to discussing and debating and stop the ad hominem attacks and listen to each other.

George Washington is an interesting answer as he is not usually thought of as a founding father. He was an amazing general (statesman is an interesting description) but I'll give her Washington. I think the criticism is that her first response was so much like the response to Katie Couric about reading material. "All of them" sounds like a hedge. Be fair. If Obama had said this, conservatives would have had a field day. The funny thing is, Mrs. Palin seems more willing to be honest about her flaws than any of the people who are so loathe to admit any possible slips of faults that she has, and she is human. Be careful that you don't start doing the very thing you complain about liberals----she is not "annointed" or "the one" any more than Mr. Obama.

Can we say that she was being sarcastic? She was just joking. She's allowed to be sarcastic, after the fact she defended Palin throughout the campaign when everyone would doubt her.

Why do conservatives use the word idiot so much? I have tried to tell my children that you should choose your words carefully. A person trying to make a point should not have to resort to name calling. I'd like to think that our national discourse is of a higher caliber than this. Every time I read a posting by a conservative or liberal who calls someone an idiot, stupid, etc. I am worried about this great country of ours.
