Brit Hume Says Reid Owes Americans an Apology for His "No Negro Dialect" Remark about Obama - Video 1/10/10
Here is video of a Fox News Sunday Panel discussing Harry Reid's comments during 2008 that Barack Obama had a chance to win because he was "light-skinned" and had "no Negro Dialect." The comments have surfaced in a new book by Mark Halperin. Reid has apologized for the remarks, and Obama has accepted his apology.
Brit Hume starts off in the video by saying he thinks Reid owes the American Public an apology because the comment is really an accusation that Americans are racist:
"The suggestion here is that the American public, being racist, would not accept someone who talked like an African-American and who was particularly dark-skinned. That really does amount to an accusation of racism against the American people."
