Here is video of the United States Senate passing the Democrats' Senate Health Care Bill early this morning by a 60-39 vote. The Democrats rammed it through on a straight party-line vote, with no Republicans voting for it.
Now, the House and Senate Health Care Bills move to a Conference Committee which must work to reconcile the two bills and come up with a report that must be passed by both the House and Senate before it can go to President Obama's desk. There are still some real sticking points, with the House bill containing a public option, and the Senate not having one. Also, the House bill has the more restrictive Stupak Amendment that prevents Federal Funding of Abortions through the bill, but the Senate bill does not.
Harry Reid plans to wait until January 19 to bring the Senate back into session.
Here is a full list of the steps needed to bring ObamaCare into law. As you can see, Democrats have now completed Step 5 out of 13 steps.
