Mitt Romney Comments on Huckabee Pardon; Says He Never Pardoned Anyone as Governor

Here is video of Mitt Romney talking to Larry King about Gov. Mike Huckabee's decision to give clemency to Maurice Clemmons in Arkansas in 2000. Romney said he is sure Huckabee would make a different decision if he could go back and do it over again. Clemmons killed four police officers in Washington last weekend.

King asked Romney how he handled pardons, and Romney said in his term as governor, he never granted a single pardon. Romney said he always came down to the fact that a jury decided to put the person in prison and therefore he should not overturn that. Romney believes pardons should be reserved for cases where DNA evidence or other factors reveal someone who is innocent, or who has been unjustly treated, has been put behind bars.
