Chris Matthews Says He Does Not Think Obama "Made the Case" for his Afghanistan Strategy - Video 12/1/09

Here is video of Chris Matthews tonight saying he does not think President Obama "made the case" tonight for his strategy in Afghanistan. He said Obama's speech "lacked the lift of a driving dream," and that it "had a ministerial quality" to it.

Matthews said he failed to bring to his speech a sense that we are going after a "clear-cut enemy." Matthews argued that Al-Qaeda is our real enemy and they are in Pakistan. So, according to him, fighting the Taliban is an indirect way of getting at Al-Qaeda.

Matthews refuses to see that the Taliban and Al-Qaeda are the same enemy. They all follow the radical Islamic ideology that is behind the terrorists who want to destroy the United States. The Taliban is our enemy, as is Al-Qaeda, and all who subscribe to that core ideology.

No tingly leggy thingy for Matthews? Is he sober? What is MSNBC trying to pull! We want round robin obsequious fawning at least on the level of Kieet Overbite. Matthew was such a disappointment.

Um, was Chris Matthews drunk when he made his comments tonight? If he doesn’t realize that Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are two arms of the same body, he has no business being a journalist. Here’s a lesson for you Chris: The goals of Al-Qaeda and the Taliban are the same. Stop denying that the War on Terror exists and realize that not only are Afghanis and Pakistanis oppressed and terrorized, but these extremists threaten the safety of all of us.

My God we're now fighting a war based completely on speeches, public opinion polls, and pundits! You folks in the armed services have my respect and sympathy.
