Chris Matthews Asks: If Sarah Palin Is An "Intellectual Leader" Shouldn't She Have Written Her Own Book and Speeches? - Video 12/07/09

Here is video of Chris Matthews talking with USA Today's Susan Page and Politico's Jonathan Martin about Sarah Palin's book and speeches.

Matthews asked Susan Page "does it bother the press that somebody comes in there who's book was written for them?" Susan answered "no." Matthews said "when somebody claims to be an intellectual leader that's going to lead this country with big ideas and lead us in the right direction and puts their name on the cover of the book, shouldn't they have written it?"

Matthews said Sarah Palin "campaigned on her antipathy to the press, trashing Katie Couric for asking the most obvious question and went after Charlie Gibson, one of the nicest guys and trashed him for being elitist." Mattthews said "there is a lot of talent she doesn't have that she takes credit for."

Matthews seemed to be getting upset that the guests would not completely trash Sarah Palin.

What about Obama's book written by Bill Ayers? It's come out now that Ayers wrote it but there was no mention of him previously.

It's "come out" from a bunch of rightwing bloggers who promote the birfer nonsense, too. Just because somebody makes ridiculous claims on a blog doesn't make it so.

As for St. Sarah, I don't know what's funnier: her not writing a book that has so little political acumen, or the idea that Rush Oxycontin says it's the most important book he's ever read as far as political theory goes.

What does that say about Rush's choice of reading material? What's the matter, didn't he have the latest issue of X-Men to read?

So that bit that shows her at a book signing with that cute little green hat? That was at the Farifax, VA book signing.....THAT I ATTENDED! Got two books signed by her on that cold cold, snowy Virginia day!
