U.S. Senate Votes to Invoke Cloture and Begin Debate on Senate Health Care Bill - Video 11/21/09

Part 1 - First Senate Cloture Vote on Senate Health Care Bill

Part 2 - First Senate Cloture Vote on Senate Health Care Bill

The U.S. Senate tonight voted 60-39 to invoke Cloture on the Senate Health Care Bill, meaning it now will move to the floor of the Senate for Debate. It does NOT mean the bill has passed the Senate. It will now move to an amendment phase, and before moving to a vote on final passage, the bill would have to pass another 60 vote threshold cloture vote to close debate / amendments and move to a final vote. At least three senators who voted for cloture tonight, have said they may not vote for the second cloture vote unless the bill changes drastically: Sen. Joe Lieberman, Sen. Mary Landrieu, and Sen. Blanche Lincoln.

Actually it is women in politics. There was a study done that no women in government has ever voted for less government or freedom for people.

Oh, come on, cartucho, think a bit before you post silly sexist comments.

What about the vaunted Governor Palin, just to cite a recent example? Kay Bailey Hutchison? Michele Bachmann?

2012 Possible GOP Contenders: Power Rankings

Here is a list of possible GOP Contenders for the 2012 Republican Nomination for President. They are listed in “Power Ranked” order based on our subjective analysis of how strong the candidates would be should they decide to seek the nomination. The rankings are NOT based on how strong the candidates would be in winning in a General Election against President Obama. The rankings will be adjusted day to day as events and information warrant. Rankings do not indicate an endorsement or preference for a particular candidate. Candidates included are those who have either indicated they may run, or individuals for which there is great speculation they will run.
