Sorry, "Rev Jeremiah Wright (introduced by Robert McChesney) at Monthly Review's 60th Anniversary" was deleted at 9:45:56 Tue Nov 3, 2009. We have no more information about it on our mainframe or elsewhere. The full speech is not available on YouTube either. A clip from this speech is available here, with Wright calling the U.S. "the land of the greed and home of the slave." If we find complete video of this speech, we'll post it again.
Here is complete video of Rev. Jeremiah Wright's speech in celebration of the 60th anniversary celebration of the independent socialist magazine Monthly Review. The event was held on September 17th, 2009, at the New York Society for Ethical Culture in New York City.
He is introduced in the video by Robert W. McChesney, co-founder of Free Press, "an organization which has come under scrutiny for its links to the Obama Administration and dedication to the transformation and control of the private media in the U.S."When you listen to Wright, you see how Obama's comfort with Socialist and Marxist sympathizers is consistent with his circle of contacts over many years, including the man he willingly listened to for more than 20 years in the pulpit of his church. Obama knew what Wright was all those years, and he is one of them himself, or he could not be comfortable with so many who share such radical views.
McChesney has written: "Our job is to make media reform part of our broader struggle for democracy, social justice, and, dare we say it, socialism."
