President Obama Addresses Students in Shanghai, China; Says U.S. and China "Not Predestined" to be Adversaries - Video 11/16/09

Here is video of President Obama delivering opening remarks at what was billed as a "Town Hall Meeting" in Shanghai, China with Chinese students. About the China - U.S. relationship, Obama said the "notion that we must be adversaries is not predestined."

In his remarks Obama mentioned the "founding documents that guide our democracy," and the "fundamental principles" that are in those documents. But he also felt the need to go over the litany of shortcomings in U.S. history, such as slavery and the fact that women could not vote for many years. Obama made no mention of China's human rights problems, or ever uttered the word "communist," or spoke of their "communist philosophy" as compared to the "fundamental principles" that guide America.

the poor marxist-in-chief has NO clue.

China has NO intentions of seeing themselves as equal to the US, they want to see China a bigger and stronger superpower than US.

Mr. Marxist-in-chief wants to see US as "one of 100 nations"
The chinease leadership wants to see China as FIRST of 100 nations.

Isnt this buffon's job to promote America and america's interests?

Eeer, yeah his job is to promote America's interest, but I think he also has to consider the indebtedness he inherited to the Republic of China. Kinda a tight rope to walk, yes!

""he also has to consider the indebtedness he inherited to the Republic of China. Kinda a tight rope to walk, yes!"

if he is SO concerned about our debt, THEN WHY THE HELL IS SPENDING MORE MONEY WE DON'T HAVE AND PUTTING US IN MORE DEBT????

why is he wanting to spend more money that we have to borrow so that it only increases our debt to China?
