Live Video Feed of House of Representatives Debate on Health Care Bill; Vote May Come Today - Live Video 11/7/09
UPDATED 10:07 AM CT: The Republicans are doing their best to stop the Democratic attempt to ram the bill through the House. They are objecting at every turn and are forcing the Dems to appear to do what they are doing - ramming the bill down the throats of the American people.
Here is a live video feed of the House of Representatives preparing to debate the Democrats' massive Health Care Bill. As this is posted (9:31 am), the House is voting on a series of procedural issues and dispensing of some pending business to clear the way for debate on the bill followed by a vote on the bill. It is unclear when a final vote on the bill will take place.
It appears a vote on the House Health Care Bill could come later today as a result of an agreement last night to allow pro-life Democrats to offer an amendment today that would keep abortion from being paid for under the Democrats' "Public Option." They hope this will clear the way for a Final Vote.
The way has been cleared for a House vote Saturday on one version of the health care overhaul. President Barack Obama will make one last pitch for his signature legislation on Capitol Hill. Under a late-night agreement, abortion opponents will be given an opportunity to try and insert tougher restrictions into the legislation.President Obama is also expected to go to Captiol Hill to lobby Democrats to support the bill.
NOTE: This shows the Democrats have been lying through their teeth for months. They have claimed again and again that their Health Care Plans would not pay for abortion. If that is true, why are they now allowing pro-life Dems to offer an amendment that would prohibit what they have said is not there to start with!
