First Exit Poll Data Shows McDonnell Way Ahead in Virginia; Corzine and Christie Deadlocked in New Jersey

Pajamas Media is reporting the first exit poll data out of New Jersey and Virginia:

First exit polls from Virginia: McDonnell 54.5, Deeds 45. And from New Jersey: Corzine 47, Christie: 47 with third-party candidate Daggett "barely registering."
If Daggett is "barely registering, it should help Chris Christie.

Actually, all the polls over the past week show the remaining Daggett votes were breaking disproportionately for Corzine. Counterintuitive maybe, but it seems that Daggett's Christie voters may have returned to the fold first, leaving more late returners to Corzine.

2012 Possible GOP Contenders: Power Rankings

Here is a list of possible GOP Contenders for the 2012 Republican Nomination for President. They are listed in “Power Ranked” order based on our subjective analysis of how strong the candidates would be should they decide to seek the nomination. The rankings are NOT based on how strong the candidates would be in winning in a General Election against President Obama. The rankings will be adjusted day to day as events and information warrant. Rankings do not indicate an endorsement or preference for a particular candidate. Candidates included are those who have either indicated they may run, or individuals for which there is great speculation they will run.
