CNN Report Shows Palin Support Among Independents at near Fifty-Percent on Major Issues - Video 11/10/09
Here is a video report from CNN's Candy Crowley about Gov. Sarah Palin and a new survey that shows 85% of Republicans agree with her on most of the important issues. However, the surveys says 49% of Independents felt that way.
The report says Palin is a force within the GOP, but that her appeal outside the party is not as strong. Crowley said that both Republicans who won Governors races last week - Bob McDonnell in Virginia, and Chris Christie in New Jersey - "politely rejected Palin's offers to campaign for them." I had not heard that before.
Crowley also said she talked to seven Republican consultants, all of whom said they did not believe she would be the party's presidential nominee in 2012.

Actually, I think the 49% of Independents agreeing with Palin on the major issues is really a pretty strong number when you consider the pounding Palin has taken in the press. To start with that number among Independents is really pretty strong, and if she can make a strong positive impression during the upcoming book tour, she will likely gain among Independents. It will be interesting to see how the book tour moves those numbers.

What crap. The implication is that Obama isn't fueled by celebrity. What a joke. He's on every glossy magazine in the checkout isle. And David Frum saying Americans tend not to elect celebrities? What about Reagan and Schwartz, or the SNL ass clown from Minnesota or Jesse Ventura or Sonny Bono? And calling Palin's resume thin? Like Obama's record and list of accomplishments are so huge! This is a CNN hit piece and Crowely should get out of the political analysis game or admit she's a stooge for the Democratic party.
I am pro-choice, much more social moderate than any social conservative. My "democratic" party has moved so far left, its not recognizable anymore.
I never realised how conservative I really was. I want smaller govt, and more indiv rights, more freedoms to choice, more fiscal responsibility, a strong national defense, less govt interferenece in the private sector... NO NO GOVT RUN HC!
I am a newly registed independent, after spending 3 decades as a democrat, I would support and campaign for Sarah Palin.
Yes, I have differences with her conscerning social issues, but there are many many more issues that I agree with her on than disagree.
And I say this as a EX-CNN watcher, whose stations I cancelled from my satellite dish. The more you diss the woman, the more you become irrelevant (if that is even possible).
a Palin Democrat/Independent
Also, I meant to add, the more you diss Sarah Palin, the more you diss me, an average working American who still believe in America and American exceptionalism!
A Democrat that believes in American Exceptionalism? I thought that Americans can only succeed by exploiting the third world, or killing polar bears, or clubbing baby seals, or starving small African children, or antagonizing terrorist groups, or being bigots, or...
Maybe you aren't a democrat? Maybe ask yourself after watching Bill Whittle:

I think most people dont know what Palin's positions are on many things.
This is because
1 - The lies have taken all the oxygen in the room
2 - When she was running for VP she had to represent McCain's positions not hers
3 - She is a libertarian Republican and is not interested in pursuing social conservative federal agenda.
