Bodyguard for Patriots Coach Bill Belichick Pulls Camerman to the Ground after Stunning Loss to Colts - Video 11/15/09

Here is video from last night following the Indianapolis Colts stunning comeback win over the New England Patriots in Indianapolis. Patriots Coach Bill Belichick is seen walking off the field shadowed by who USA Today calls his "bodyguard." If you watch carefully, you will see the man appear to grab a cameraman trying to get a shot of Belichick as he walked off the field and pull him to the ground.

Belichick was stunned at the loss after making the inexplicable decision to go for a 4th and 2 at his own 28 yard-line even though the Patriots led 34-28 at the time, with around two minutes to play. The Patriots failed, and the Colts only needed to go 29 yards to win the game, which they did, with QB Peyton Manning throwing a Touchdown pass to Reggie Wayne with 13 seconds remaining.

The cord ran out and he got jerked to the ground.

Exactly the way I saw it. Cord was too short - no way that bodyguard was able to throw him down. He just moved him aside and the man went down. Would have been nice to have a better angle on it, but the cord definitely was the culprit!

You all may be right. I had not noticed the cord when I posted the video. However, you can see that the bodyguard put his hands on the cameraman and appears to pull down. It may have been a combination of the two.

I think you are right. It is just a mishap. He slipped and fell down. Th bodyguard is not the culprit in this case.

We need an instant replay from another angle. Unless there is indisputable evidence to the contrary the play must stand as called -- gaff interference.
