President Obama Makes Middle of the Night Trip to Greet Returning War Dead from Afghanistan - Video 10/29/09

Here is a video report on President Obama making a surprise visit to Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware overnight to greet the caskets of U.S. Soldiers and DEA Agents killed in Afghanistan. Obama made the trip in the middle of the night, and returned to the White House around 5:00 this morning.

Obama lifted the ban on media coverage of military dead returning to the U.S.

What the current incarnation of POTUS will do for a photo op is pathetic. What I wonder is if this is another soldier killed by the insane ROE he put in place?

OK, rightwingers, you tell Obama what to do because whatever he does you criticize. SInce it is impossible for him to take any action without the utter hatred and disdain the far right nutcases have for Obama to show, you guys tell him what to do. The hatred of Obama is disgusting, utter disgusting. No wonder there will be a 40 state landslide for Obama against Sarah "theocrat" Palin.

Obama planned to go to the ceremony regardless. Saying he "lifted the ban on media coverage" is a little misleading: media can cover these ceremonies IF the family of the deceased service member agrees. In this case, at least one of the families agreed, which is why there's video.

George H.W. Bush instituted the ban.

George W. Bush never once went to Dover AFB for one of these ceremonies.

So go ahead and criticize Obama for attending. If he goes, you slam him for setting up a photo op. If he doesn't go, you slam him for disrespecting our fallen military. Either way, you get what you want: another opportunity to take a cheap shot at a President you cannot stand.

It's a shame that you rightwingers are going to be in such misery and frustration for the next seven years.
