President Obama Comments on His Olympic Failure - Video 10/2/09

Here is video of President Obama today making a statement about Chicago not being chosen to host the 2016 Olympic Games. Obama said he wished he had better news to share, but congratulated Rio de Janeiro and Brazil on being selected.

He defended his trip to Copenhagen to be pitchman for Chicago's bid, saying he is always glad to speak in behalf of American interests.

NOTE: The disappointment in Obama's face and voice are pretty obvious.

"NOTE: The disappointment in Obama's face and voice are pretty obvious."

Really? Why? Why would he be disappointed that a major American city lost its bid to host an Olympic Games? An enterprise that could have brought jobs and other business opportunities to our country?

Some of you conservatives are just schmucks. You say you "want Obama to fail" because his policies are so un-American. Yeah, so what's so un-American about getting an Olympic Games? Is that now Socialist, too?

Admit it: you cretins just love to see anything even tangentally related to Obama fail - whether or not it hurts America.

That's sad and pathetic, and very very small-minded. And don't think for a second that most Americans don't see that aspect of your venom.

I find this video very troubling, after all this is the man who has talked down the USA since coming into office.

Then he has the nerve to go to Copenhagen and think these people haven't been seeing and hearing what he has been saying!

Do I hear hyporite from anyone else?

Now he will see just what others have been feeling about him. Stay off of the TV and get to work for the people, stay in Washington where you belong. Stop trying to be a Hollywood type President and get down to work.

The heads of state for Japan, Spain, and Brazil all showed up in Copenhagen to pitch their bids to host the Olympics. What choice did Obama have?

Option 1: Go, pitch the U.S. and Chicago, and win. Then the right wing would criticize him for contributing to the "political corruption in Chicago".

Option 2: Go, pitch the U.S., and lose. Whoo hooo Obama lost! Obama lost! We right wingers win - because Obama lost!

Option 3: Don't go, and Chicago wins the bid. See? The U.S. doesn't need Obama to win!

Option 4: DOn't go, and Chicago loses. What the hell was Obama doing? Every other country sent their head of state, and Obama stayed home to yak about health vare. And America wound up losing, because Obama wasn't there.

Face it: the right wing would have spun this every which way but loose to portray Obama in a negative light.

The American public can see past the right wing spin, though. Just like they did last November.
