After Damage is Done, CNN and MSNBC Admit They Can't Verify Quotes Used Against Limbaugh - Videos 10/16/09

Now that they played their part in smearing Rush Limbaugh and creating a firestorm that resulted in Limbaugh being criticized by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and eventually being dropped from the group bidding to buy the St. Louis Rams, some in the media are admitting they used alleged "quotes" that they cannot confirm.

First, here is Rick Sanchez at CNN apologizing for using quotes against Limbaugh that he now admits he cannot independently confirm:

MSNBC's David Shuster admitted on air today that they cannot verify the quotes they used either, be he did not apologize:

But now the damage is done - and both CNN and MSNBC know it. They knew it when they used the false quotes, and they got what they wanted. Now they sanctimoniously try to make it look like they care about journalistic ethics, when the fact is, they will do anything to smear and destroy a conservative.

When Sanchez is fired, then he'll be forgiven.

Hey Rick...that's why nobody watches you. You're a liar, just like the rest of your unwatched sinking network!

Sanchez and Shuster -- wow what a couple of punks and how embarrassing.

What unspeakable idiocy by CNN and MSNBC.

All this crap is building a wall and that wall will not stand.

Dang....you shouldn't be so hard on them. At least they retracted it and apologized. I can't ever remember hearing Rush or Beck do either. And it wasn't "quotes." Apparently it was only ONE quote. What about the others? He didn't even refute them, did he?

This is just a convenient "out" for the right wing. Limbaugh would never stand a snowball's chance in hell of getting part of a significant part of an NFL franchise, but now he and his Kool-Aid drinkers can play the victim card. There's plenty of things that Limbaugh said on the record that would preclude his entry into the NFL. so don't kid yourselves, dittobutts.

2012 Possible GOP Contenders: Power Rankings

Here is a list of possible GOP Contenders for the 2012 Republican Nomination for President. They are listed in “Power Ranked” order based on our subjective analysis of how strong the candidates would be should they decide to seek the nomination. The rankings are NOT based on how strong the candidates would be in winning in a General Election against President Obama. The rankings will be adjusted day to day as events and information warrant. Rankings do not indicate an endorsement or preference for a particular candidate. Candidates included are those who have either indicated they may run, or individuals for which there is great speculation they will run.
