Meltdown: Official Says Tennis Star Serena Williams Told Her "I Will Kill You" - Video 9/12/09

Here is video of a total meltdown last night by Women's Tennis star Serena Williams at the U.S. Open after she was called for a "foot fault" during Match Point against Kim Clijsters.

Clijsters led 30-15 against Williams and Williams was serving. The official called her for a "foot fault," giving Clijsters two match points at 40-15. Williams walked over to the official and said something several times. The official then went to the other officials and you can then hear Williams disputing with them saying, "I didn't say I will kill you!" She was assessed a one point penalty, giving Clijsters the match.

NOTE: Corrected. See comments below.

I believe it's a foot-fault, rather than a 'foot fall'.

Thanks for the correction. I've changed it to foot-fault.

Correction: She was NOT serving at match point. The text above states that Serena was called for a foot fault "during match point" and that "Clijsters had match point against Williams and Williams was serving." That is not accurate.

It was actually 15-30, with Williams serving, when Serena was called for the foot fault. That made it 15-40, which was then match point, and the penalty point from the chair umpire awarded Clijsters the match.

TBone,
Thanks for the correction. The 15-40 made it double match point. Sorry for the mistake.

2012 Possible GOP Contenders: Power Rankings

Here is a list of possible GOP Contenders for the 2012 Republican Nomination for President. They are listed in “Power Ranked” order based on our subjective analysis of how strong the candidates would be should they decide to seek the nomination. The rankings are NOT based on how strong the candidates would be in winning in a General Election against President Obama. The rankings will be adjusted day to day as events and information warrant. Rankings do not indicate an endorsement or preference for a particular candidate. Candidates included are those who have either indicated they may run, or individuals for which there is great speculation they will run.
