Bank of America Branch in South Carolina Refuses Display of U.S. Flags to Honor Fallen Marine - Video 9/22/09

Here is video on the story that a Bank of America in Gaffney, South Carolina refused to allow a row of U.S. Flags to be placed in the yard of the bank to honor U.S. Marine Christopher Fowlkes, killed in Afghanistan.

The video features Megyn Kelly talking with a neighbor of the fallen Marine who placed the flags in the ground in his honor. She said she noticed after placing the flags that they disappeared. They had been pulled up by the manager who told the neighbor that it was against policy to allow the flags. She also reportedly told the woman that the flags "might be offensive" to some of their customers.

Bank of America has apologized for what they call a "misunderstanding."

NOTE: Megyn Kelly mistakenly refers to the U.S. Flag as the "Stars and Bars," which of course is what the Confederate Flag was called.

BoA pulled the flags because it might offend some of the customers. Well this customer is highly offend that the Bank of AMERICA has the nerve to use the word AMERICA in their name. I was a customer since 1980, but before Monday I'll be a customer of some other bank, who will put up flags.

I was seriously considering tranferring my fianacial matters from NBSC to Bank of America until I heard the report on FOX about the incident in Gaffney, SC in regard to the American flag. My transactions total approximately $4000.00 monthly with $500 monthly of that going into savings. Until it is released by FOX news that your branch manager in Gaffney SC that refused to have an American flag on the premises has been terminated, I will not consider banking with you. I am a veteran and find this to be a direct insult to myself and all persons who have fought to defend this country. I would also like to see a sincere televised public apology to the American people and families of the deceased soldiers from Bank of America. I have no Google account to log in with but I have no wish to be "anonymous" My name is Joe Moore and I live in Sumter, SC.
