Tapper Asks Gibbs About Use of "Nazi Imagery" on Both Sides in ObamaCare Debate - Video 8/7/09

Here is video of ABC's Jake Tapper questioning White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs about the use of "Nazi imagery" on both sides in the Government Health Care debate. He specifically mentioned Democrats who have referred to anti-ObamaCare protesters as "brownshirts" and accused them of bringing "Nazi swastikas" to events, despite the fact there is no proof whatsoever to that effect.

Tapper also mentioned Rush Limbaugh having compared some of the tactics being used by Obama to the things Hitler did in the 1930's and 1940's. In fairness, Limbaugh had compared some of the propaganda and urging citizens to "snitch" on other citizens that Hitler engaged in, to what Obama has done in recent weeks. Limbaugh made no comparison to Hitler's anti-Jewish actions or his attempt to exterminate all Jews. Gibbs said anyone using such terminology is on "thin ice." He did not elaborate on what he meant by that.

"In recent weeks, Limbaugh made no comparison to Hitler's anti-Jewish actions or his attempt to exterminate all Jews."

So, other than that nettlesome anti-Semitism, the Nazis were good guys?

You DO realize that Hitler and the Nazis executed almost as many non-Jews as they did Jews in the concentration camps, right?

The Headline of that session should be:
Gibbs Tells the DNC to Back Off!

Gibbs at the 2:50 mark of the video: "..we've all seen imagery that really just shocks and surprises us and I think the best thing to do is to take that tempurature down a bit."

The question from Tapper was directed toward the the DNC ad that called the Health Care protestors "MOBS"!

Is Gibbs telling the DNC to tone it down?

My point was that Limbaugh never accused Obama of trying to exterminate people as Hitler did to millions of Jews as well as non-Jews.

Limbaugh was comparing Obama's urging people to report on other citizens to what Hitler did. But it is not a compliment to be compared to Hitler in any way.

That's why Obama should avoid doing anything that even remotely smacks of the dictatorial practices to silence opposition that Hitler engaged in.

Oh, I see... now it is up to OBAMA not to do anything that would just "force" swell guys like Rush Limbore to compare Obama to Hitler? The onus isn't on Limbore not to be a Grade A Butthole (which, amittedly, is probably impossible) as the onus is on Obama not to say anything or do anything that might irritate or instigate Limbore!

What a country!

Admit it, or at least try: Limbore LOVES to compare Obama to Hitler; he does it at the drop of a hat!

Obama's symbols look like Nazi symbols. Obama gives good speeches like Hitler did. I don't know if Limbore has or has not made the Palinesque reference to Obama Death Panels in comparison with the Nazis... but if he hasn't, it's only because it hasn't popped into Limbore's peabrain yet. You have to know, in your heart of hearts, that Limbore wouldn't hesitate to make that comparison.

All through the Bush years, the left *constantly* compared Bush to (hitler, fascists, swastikas, vampires, etc.). In no way shape or form did Bush *ever* take actions as extreme as Obama is now attempting or has already begun to take. If the logic of the left deemed that the "shoe fit" when Bush was in office, then you are either intellectually dishonest or a hypocrite to take the view that the "shoe doesn't fit" Obama when it comes to *reasonable* comparisons to facists, socialists and yes, even Hitler's tactics.

We call em' like we see em' and in Obama's case, the "shoe fits" exceedingly well.
