Here is a video report on the news that Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett was beaten by a man with a metal pipe last night near the State Fair location. Barrett was attempting to assist a woman involved in a domestic dispute by calling 911, when the man came at him. He was beaten about the head, and is in the hospital in stable condition. The attacker is still at large.

Pity he worked so hard to prevent the law-abiding citizens of his state from legally carrying concealed weapons. He could have used one.

From what I've read about the suspect, he is a felon. And if you knew anything about concealed carry laws, you would know that you cannot get a concealed carry permit if you are a felon.
Oh wait, he's a criminal, and criminals don't obey the law. He could just carry a concealed weapon like every other criminal does. :/
The mayor is alive because the attacker allowed him to live. Maybe people will see now that you can't depend on the police to protect you all the time. They can't even protect the mayor. Maybe the mayor will re-evaluate his position on allowing the citizenry to carry a concealed weapon.

It's called irony. As far as shooting this thug, yes that is pretty much the point. Would you rather have your head bashed in with a pipe or be able to defend yourself? Well, we already know the answer to that. The liberal mindset has always fascinated me.

I have no sympathy for him at all. If he hadn't been so stupid, he could've prevented this whole thing.

Mayor Barrett Calls for Defeat of Conceal / Carry Legislation
Milwaukee, WI –– Mayor Tom Barrett called on legislators today to defeat legislation that would put more guns on the streets in Milwaukee and inevitably increase violent crime. At a news conference held at the COA Burleigh Center, the Mayor was joined by several community organizers representing Running Rebels, Heartlove Place, Black Health Coalition, Lincoln Park Community Association, and Mothers Against Gun Violence.
