Harry Reid Introduces Al Franken as Newest Member of the U.S. Senate - Video 7/6/09

Here is video from yesterday of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid introducing Al Franken as the newest member of the U.S. Senate. Franken was finally declared the winner of the Minnesota Senate race from November 2008 after a long recount and legal battle over the close and disputed race with Republican Norm Coleman.

I know Minnesota is a great state, but you have to wonder about their decision-making in electing someone like Al Franken to be their Senator. Franken will provide plenty of material for bloggers over the next six years!

I think it's great that Coleman FINALLY did the honorable thing and dropped out.

Here's hoping Franken doesn't turn into a disgrace like Craig, Vitter or Ensign.

2012 Possible GOP Contenders: Power Rankings

Here is a list of possible GOP Contenders for the 2012 Republican Nomination for President. They are listed in “Power Ranked” order based on our subjective analysis of how strong the candidates would be should they decide to seek the nomination. The rankings are NOT based on how strong the candidates would be in winning in a General Election against President Obama. The rankings will be adjusted day to day as events and information warrant. Rankings do not indicate an endorsement or preference for a particular candidate. Candidates included are those who have either indicated they may run, or individuals for which there is great speculation they will run.
