CNN Anchor Loses It Over Police Call for Obama Apology - Video 7/24/09
Here is video of CNN Anchor Tony Harris losing it (his cool and his objectivity) over the call by Police Officers in Cambridge, Massachusetts for President Obama to apologize for his accusation that they "acted stupidly" in arresting a Harvard Professor.
Harris listened to reporter Don Lemon who was at the press conference, and then just lost it, saying "This is incendiary," referring to the call by the police for an Obama apology. He then put reporter Don Lemon on the spot to share a personal experience of profiling, which Lemon did not seem to want to do.

The fact is that black males commit a larger number of crimes in comparison to other races.
If black males as a group were like super heros that helped people whenever they could then all this would be moot. But they are not. Who's fault is that? Theirs.
Treat criminals like criminals. Don't treat blacks like criminals.
I'm white. I wouldn't want to be black, in this society. Does anybody really doubt that blacks get hassled by law enforcement, sometimes, simply because they are black? "DWB" -- Driving While Black -- is not a myth.
DWB is not a myth. And the existence of race card players is not a myth either.
Prof. Gates has acted like someone using a credit card who gets all mad because they are asked for ID. Keep in mind that these people are doing stuff to protect you.
I sure wouldn't want him as my neighbor. If I looked at him funny he'd have Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson outside my house leading a protest.
Its obvious from the exchange between Martin and Lemon that their raw feelings are clouding the story.
Martin looks and sounds so incensed himself that he's about to come apart at the seams.
Plus the fact that Lemon keeps taking the focus off Martin to get his (Lemon's) word in edgewise. They seem to be competing for face and air time.
They keep saying both sides, Police and Gates, should step back. Well, guess what, the Police did step back they dropped the charges against Gates and said they regret the incident occurred.
But did Gates step back? No, he took an aggressive step forward by coming out and announcing he may file charges against Crowley and the Department.
DWB is a myth.
Nothing funnier than watching two good-looking, educated, professional black men with very desirable occupations insinuate the man keeps them down.
Same thing with a black professor living in a free historic residence.
Commenting anonymously, because I detest these things where people say things like "I'm white, and I have friends, who happen to be black...."
But I have to do it this time anyway.
I grew up poor. And I, my family and my friends, were all harassed by the cops. It didn't matter what color anyone was. If you come from the wrong side of the tracks, and the power structure thought you looked like some one who might want to have some of that power and wealth, they watched and harassed you.
The power structure treated minorities infinitely better than they treated us. No doubt there are racist cops out there who think color automatically puts you on the wrong side of the tracks. But my experience, far and away, is it isn't race, its class.
Rather than wallow in self pity, my Dad and myself worked to put me through community college, and I fought my way out, and into the middle class.
And when I was hired into IBM, I watched all forms of minorities get affirmative action promotions and raises over and above me.
I'm a disabled American. I could have easily qualified for the freebies, but I flat out refused. I demand that I be judged on what I can do, rather than what I am.
And I get damn tired of hearing people complain about how the deck is stacked against them for this reason or that.
It is not about what happens to you, it's about what you do about it. You either make it work, or you fail.
And now there's a third category, you're rich, successful and you complain about how tough it is being rich and successful.
I'm friggin' tired of the whining.
Gates recounted the incident, and said that his driver busted open his door (couldn't find his key). It was reported by his neighbor. The cops came and made an inquiry. Gates screamed.
You know, it seems like the cops did fine, and Mr. Gates is just seeking attention. Too many people create conflict where there really is none.
"You know, it seems like the cops did fine, and Mr. Gates is just seeking attention. Too many people create conflict where there really is none."
Yeah, getting cuffs thrown on you and getting your butt hauled down to the local jail by an overzealous police sergeant "just doing his duty" is a very common attention getting device. No conflict there, no sireeee. And everybody knows that Harvard professors are just oooking for attention after returning fro an overseas trip.
