Here is a video report on the news that John Madden has announced his decision to retire from his color commentary role on NBC National Football League broadcasts. Madden coached the Oakland Raiders to a Super Bowl victory following the 1976 season, and then went into broadcasting. He worked for many years with the legendary Pat Summerall on CBS NFL broadcasts, and then moved with Summerall to Fox to continue NFL broadcasts. Eventually he joined ABC's Monday Night Football with Al Michaels, and then moved with Michaels to NBC when they got the Sunday Night Football Broadcasts. Madden is famous for his fear of flying. He has traveled by customized bus to all the broadcasts he has done. Madden is 73.
