David Axelrod Describes Tea Party Movement as "Unhealthy" - Video 4/19/09

Here is video of chief Obama adviser David Axelrod today on CBS News' Face the Nation where he described the "Tea Party" movement as "unhealthy," as if it is made up of just a bunch of disaffected oddballs. He defends Obama as having just cut taxes on 95% of Americans, saying the "teabags should be directed elsewhere."

What neither the media or the Obama people want to address is that one of the real drivers behind the movement is not the level of taxes today, but what Obama's spending is going to mean for taxes in the years ahead. His massive deficit spending is going to mean huge tax increases in the years ahead, not only on the rich, but necessarily on the next generation of Americans. There will not be enough money from the "rich" alone to tax. Tax increases are coming for all Americans as a result of Obama's policies. Obama does not care because he will likely finish his Presidency before the worst of those taxes will be required. He is moving to reshape America's economy and society into more of a European-style Socialist state before the check comes due. The "Tea Party Movement" is trying to sound the alarm, but it seems the majority of Americans are satisfied to watch it happen for now.

2012 Possible GOP Contenders: Power Rankings

Here is a list of possible GOP Contenders for the 2012 Republican Nomination for President. They are listed in “Power Ranked” order based on our subjective analysis of how strong the candidates would be should they decide to seek the nomination. The rankings are NOT based on how strong the candidates would be in winning in a General Election against President Obama. The rankings will be adjusted day to day as events and information warrant. Rankings do not indicate an endorsement or preference for a particular candidate. Candidates included are those who have either indicated they may run, or individuals for which there is great speculation they will run.
