Obama Teleprompter Exposed on National TV During White House Press Conference - Video 3/24/09
Here is video from last night's White House Press Conference where Obama's use of a giant teleprompter in the back of the room was exposed for all the world to see. This is the first time I have ever seen the video feed from the White House show the teleprompter, which Obama was using to read his opening statement. It was obvious even before the teleprompter was shown that Obama was reading it. You could tell from his eyes and the inflection of his voice that he was reading. He usually does it more effectively than last night. But it really looked bizarre to see that giant screen in the back of the room behind all the reporters with the new great communicator reading it verbatim.

I don't understand the problem. Every person in the world that gives a speech uses these. Are you going to make fun of Fox News, George Bush, etc. too? Obama didn't use the teleprompter during responses to questions.

There is nothing wrong with the use of a teleprompter in specific contexts. What is sticking to Obama is the fact he uses a teleprompter virtually every time he speaks. This is unprecedented. His use of a teleprompter even for an opening statement at a press conference in the White House is a first.
Probably has a teleprompter in the shower so he can sing.
Isn't he supposed to be such a SMART person? A person as SMART as they try to portray him as being would be able to MEMORIZE something right?
