McCain Says GM Should Go into Bankruptcy; Won't Comment on Rush Limbaugh - Video 3/8/09
Here is video of Sen. John McCain yesterday on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, where he said the best thing would be to allow General Motors to go into Chapter 11 Bankruptcy where it could reorganize and come out with a different union contract and a become a viable company. He talks about GM at the 8:00 remaining mark of the video.
McCain also opened the discussion by saying President Obama should veto the Omnibus Spending Bill before the Senate right now, that has 9,000 earmarks in it, something Obama pledged to do during the campaign.
McCain was asked about Rush Limbaugh and comments Limbaugh made about him at CPAC, and McCain refused to really answer, saying nothing about Limbaugh other than "he has his audience." McCain said we should be the "loyal opposition" to Obama, working with him when we can and opposing him where we feel we must.
On Foreign Policy, McCain says he believes Iran and their pursuit of nuclear weapons will be a major international crisis. He was commenting on news that Iran has just test-fired a new long-range missile.
Overall, when asked how President Obama is doing, McCain said he believes Obama is "working hard," but that he is making a very serious mistake with his handling of the economy.
