Tom Brokaw talked with Meredith Viera this morning on The Today Show, and gave his take on President Obama's first prime-time press conference, and the Obama Stimulus Bill.
Brokaw said that Karl Rove will issue a warning to Republicans in a column later this week that if the economy begins to recover later this year, they will be "on the outside looking in" having opposed the Stimulus Plan. Brokaw cites the coming Rove warning at the 1:00 minute mark of the video.
That is a real danger. Recessions tend to be cyclical anyway. So it stands to reason the economy will bounce back within a year. Obama will take credit for it, whether the Stimulus Plan had anything to do with it or not. In some ways he is in a win-win situation, and Republicans in a lose-lose one. If the GOP goes along with Obama, he will get all the credit anyway.

Duh, it is axiomatic.
McCain is disappointed. Who cares?
