Mike Huckabee Takes Ann Coulter to Task in Interview - Video 1/10/09
Here is video of Gov. Mike Huckabee interviewing Ann Coulter on his show yesterday, and taking her to task for some of the things she said about him during the campaign last year. Huckabee was very direct, but Coulter holds her own.

I'm no fan of Huckabee's but this was the single thing he's done that has impressed me the most. In the first segment, he absolutely eviscerated Ann, which is no mean feat (I say this as more or less an Ann fan).
He was clever how he did it too. He pretty much confined the discussion to his beliefs and not to policy or details of this or that statement or position.
Ann can't really assail him on any of that since Huckabee is pretty much the final word on what Huckabee thinks.
He left her with nowhere to go. She can't say, well that was all hyperbole, because it then calls into question all the things she says. Ann was wise enough to not go there. But Huckabee did get her to say that he wasn't an idiot, which had to be a little humiliating.
But then, in the second section, he completely let her off the hook and helped her push her book.
It was a Huckabee tour-de-force, and I predict she'll be easier on him next time.

Huchabee ruined it for Thompson and Romney and paved the way for McCain. For that he deserves opprobrium.
I am a HUGE fan of both Huckabee and Ann, so hearing her call him stupid and pro-sodomy shocked me. They believe pretty much the same things.
