Here is video of Gerald R. Ford taking the Oath of Office as President of the United States on August 9, 1974. Ford was Vice-President when President Richard Nixon resigned the office of President. Ford took the Oath of Office at the White House and then delivered remarks to the nation that he said were "not an inaugural address," but simply "straight talk" to the nation. Ford was defeated in 1976 in his bid to be elected in his own right as President by Jimmy Carter.
