America - The Greatest Nation on Earth

Today is the 232nd Birthday of our nation. It is a good day to reflect on just how blessed we are to live in what is truly the greatest nation on earth - not only presently, but in all human history.

I do not say that lightly. I know that here have been many great civilizations down through the centuries, and many empires that have come and gone. Some have achieved great wealth, and others extended their domain to vast reaches. But there has never been a nation that existed for the foundational purpose of freedom for it's citizens, and been willing to help bring freedom to so many others around the world.

On this July 4, hundreds of millions of people across Europe are free because the United States was willing to give 400,000 of it's finest to liberate them from the oppression of the Nazis in World War II. Millions more are free today because we stood against the Evil Empire of the Soviet Union for more than 40 years and brought it down through the strength of our ideals and our united will spanning many generations and Presidential Administrations.

Today, tens of millions are free in Afghanistan and Iraq because of our liberation (not occupation) that maintains the highest ideals of America.

It appears we are headed for a season of night in America where it will not be fashionable to stand up and say without apology that the United States is the greatest nation on Earth. The radical left - who take advantage of freedoms provided by so many patriots through the decades - constantly apologizes for this nation and see only what they believe to be deficiencies as they look through their lens of revisionist history.

But as has happened before, one day Americans will wake up to the deficiencies of those who hate their own nation, and who feel the need to "remake" America. America does not need to be "remade." America is the "shining city on a hill," as Ronald Reagan used to say. The principles of freedom and liberty for all don't need to be "remade." They need to be unleashed once again. If done so, our future as a nation will be ever-brighter and stronger.

So, on this July 4, give thanks to God for the blessings of freedom and liberty, and be a citizen who is not ashamed to tell the world about the greatness of the land in which you are so blessed to live.

First, Happy Independence Day!

You said,"It appears we are headed for a season of night in America where it will not be fashionable to stand up and say without apology that the United States is the greatest nation on Earth."

If you believe the drivel, distortion and misinformation that issues from what was once wrongly called "the mainstream news media," then, yes.

If you believe Barack Obama and those who support him, including Tinsel Town and most broadcast and many cable TV networks, then, yes.

If you believe those in Congress--mostly, if not completely, the Democrats, but certainly the liberals and leftists--who intentionally, if not pathologically, see that our glass is always empty or that agree with the Islamists that America is the "Great Satan," then, yes.

If you believe the musings of what appears a preponderance of academicians, especially those from the 1960s or thereabouts, then, yes.

But if you don't, then, respectfully, I disagree with you.

Across our very imperfect, though still free country, I believe most Americans have the basic cognitive skills to discern what is and is not b***s***--and it is they, after they've unburdened themselves with their gripes, who will still voice love and respect for their homeland.

The time is fast approaching--and for this I do thank Barack Obama and his handlers, bundlers, bumblers and devotees, including the liberal/Dmocrat/Obama news shills--that Americans will decide to get off their collective and individual patoots and say to those who denigrate and hate America, "Leave or shut up."

And I do not refer to dissent. That is American. We must have it.

But it's time that the Tories or Loyaists--today's liberals, leftists and the Democrat Party leadership--give it up and either become Americans or decide their grass is greener on other soils.

But, then, part of America's history and our heritage is that group calling themselves Americans who will always hate our country, while basking in the very freedoms it gives them.

We must never--NEVER--allow their voice or views to predominate.
